How we work and why we love it

At Euro-Com International we recognise that every project is unique. Every client has a different focus and has different requirements. We follow a number of important steps that allow us to serve the needs of our clients.
Conceptualization
The first step in any localization project is to ensure we understand who our client is and what they require from the project. Who is the intended recipient of the translated message? What industries are involved in the process? Understanding the client and the recipient of a message is key to what we do. We need to transfer the message to the recipient in a style that represents the clients “voice” and is appropriate to the industry they are operating in.
During the conceptualization phase it can also be useful to discuss additional features such as our Euro-Communicator.
Brainstorming
Once we have identified the recipients, the next step in the process is to work out the most efficient way to complete the project. Our highly qualified Project Managers will help oversee this step. There are a number of elements which may come into action in this step:
• Analyse the document for translation
• Does it require DTP?
• Identify qualified resources (in each appropriate language pair)
• Perform testing if necessary
• Agree upon timeframe for project completion
Execution
The standard process we follow when translating is ‘Translation + Edit + Proof’ or TEP. Our project managers assign jobs to the relevant translation resource. Our professional translators, who translate into their mother-tongue language, are chosen based on their specialist experience across a diverse range of industries and interests, from legal, patents, technical, and medical, to sales, marketing and websites.
Once the translation has been completed, it is returned to our PM’s.
Review
The translated document is then sent to a second (industry specific) linguistic resource. The files are then edited by the reviewer. These edited files are returned to the project managers who perform Quality Assurance audits on the text. We check for:
• Untranslated segments
• Punctuation errors
• Target same as source
• Inconsistency in source
• Inconsistency in target
• Tag mismatches
• Numeric mismatches
• Key term mismatches
Delivery
Once the TEP steps have been completed, the final package of information will be returned to the client. The project managers will update your Translation Memory file, so translated words, phrases and linguistic styles can be recorded and used to improve efficiency and saves costs on your next project.
